A simple, yet more meaningful life.

If you are new to the area, you probably have already discovered what a great place Jamesville is to call home. We have wonderful resources, both natural and human and there are many opportunities to get involved. As example, we have several local organizations whose volunteers work on local issues of interest and import to our Community which include:

  • The Jamesville Museum researches, gathers, preserves and shares our history;

  • The Jamesville Garden Club keeps the Jamesville's Center beautiful;

  • Friends of Jamesville Beach helps promote and share this wonderful park;

  • The Council of Park Friends (Clark Reservation) a geologic wonder and a botanist's paradise.

If you have a a curiosity or an interest in any of the above, don't hesitate to reach out. You may find it's very rewarding.

About

Some of the successes and activities of Jam-PAC:

  • Stopped the creation of a Coal Gasification Plant adjacent to the Jamesville Elementary School

  • Worked with elected officials to improve roadways, create green space and pocket parks. The corners of South Street and Seneca Turnpike and Seneca Turnpike and Route 91 are two examples.

  • Participated with County planners to develop a vision for this community that would improve our quality of life. Our hamlet was chosen to participate in a charette with Andre Duany, a nationally known design expert. His vision and ours included the site of the proposed coal plant to become mixed use housing and small businesses.

  • Opposed the building of the trash incinerator on Rock Cut Road, pushed for more recycling and have ensured monitoring the operation of the plant since its start-up.

  • Worked to relocate and renovate the old train station that now sits in the town square. With Community Development money, the building functions as a community center for the residents of Jamesville, as well as available for rent through the Dewitt Parks & Rec Dept.
